Dear Families,

With students out last Friday, I did not get to send the Friday letter. This one is packed with celebrations from the last two weeks as well as some amazing upcoming events.

Let me start with big shout out to Destiny and She'monte! Two weekends ago, they participated at a community event at Brehms where a tractor trailer full of groceries was distributed to families in the community. These girls kept their commitment to help and worked really hard for 3 hours organizing and handing out groceries. I am so proud of both of them and thankful to Ms. Chase for making this opportunity possible.

The Belair-Edison Brendan Campus is pleased to introduce Mr. Larin Walker. Mr. Walker is not really that new to us since he joined us last school year. Mr. Walker’s desire is to use the impact his teachers had on him to impact future generations. He enjoys building relationship with our scholars, and seeing them grow. Welcome, again, Mr. Walker!

On Monday, November 4, we will hold parent conferences from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Advisors will be reaching out to families of students who have a D or lower in any subject area. At this meeting, families will be updated on why the student has the grade he/she has and make plans for how to do better in upcoming quarters

Reminders

  • BOOK FEES - $20 per child. Advisors are collecting this.
  • CLASSROOM PARENT – Sign up at https://belairedisonmiddle.cla... to receive school updates and this Friday letter. We are phasing out the paper version of the Friday letter soon. Support us in going green!

Panther Updates

Girls Soccer - The Panthers finished the season in second place. I couldn’t be prouder of this team, most of whom learned the basics of soccer just this season. Go Panthers! Coach Arauz.

Flag Football - What a game, what a season!  After losing their very first game, the Panthers won 4 straight games to capture the 2019 BeMore Athletic League Championship! They defeated a very good Baltimore Collegiate team 12-6 in a physical and emotional game.  Quarterback Aaron Reese threw a pair of long bombs to receiver Daylin Gittings, one resulting in the first touchdown of the game.  Amonte Johnson and Kittrell Paschell both played lockdown defense at cornerback and each recorded an interception at crucial times.  Jamir Davis delivered a hard-nosed blocking all game and provided the leadership we needed to pull the game out.  Overall, a great team effort! Go Panthers! Coach Morgan & Coach Coleman.

Be Well,

Tiffany.
